-------I would like to thank you for taking an interest in my comic Cecil The Superpunk. Cecil The Superpunk is a concept I have been working on since the early nineties. I did a lot of drawings and a couple attempts at completing full comic books. However the prohibitive cost of printing and the insane amount of work involved in putting a full comic book together by myself combined to prevent me from getting my creation out there. The last several years I have been developing another comic book concept set in a post apocalyptic world. I found myself once again bogged down in getting it all put together. This time it was the massive undertaking of cleaning up my pencils in Photoshop. The amount of time each page was taking had me thinking that I would only be able to produce about one or two books a year. It was very discouraging.

-------That is when inspiration struck. It was about three in the morning and I was lying in bed when it came to me. I would revisit the Cecil The Superpunk concept, however this time I would approach it with a more cartoon aesthetic. I would attempt to do something on the computer instead of scanning in pencils. This would save me the enormously unwieldy task of cleaning up my artwork, which was taking me longer than the actual drawing. My original plan was to publish at least one page a week. What you are about to read is the result of that three AM epiphany. I got right out of bed, snuck over to the computer and started.

-------When reading The Origin of Cecil the Superpunk please keep all this in mind. I have abandoned the page a week publishing in favor of dropping completed chapters all at once. Currently I am getting one out about every month and a half. I would love to publish monthly however I find myself having to do so many other things to pay the bills. I have also started using Flash instead of Photoshop, and I would like to say that since this first storyline the artwork has (in my opinion) improved quite a bit. I am currently working on getting Ninja Shminja part three completed and am very excited. Someday I would like to go back and redo the origin storyline, however right now I am more inspired with finishing Ninja Shminja and the stories I have that come after that. So while reading this please keep all that in mind and enjoy. I promise it gets better.
