--------So this weekend the comic book movie called The Losers came out. I never read the comic book, in fact I never heard about it. But that’s not saying much as I pretty much only read Marvel Super Hero comic books. But hey it is a comic book movie and I do try to catch all of those. My girl was into seeing it as well, and that’s always a plus. So we caught the 10:35 showing last night.

--------First off after hearing that Chris Evans is going to be playing Captain America I immediately wanted him to do well. He already pulled off the best performance in the Fantastic Four movies so he is off to a good start. Well he stole the show in The Losers as well. I imagine a good part of it was the fact that he got all the best lines. He also got to wear a different cool T-shirt in almost every scene. I would say his performance peaked in the scene that he sang a high falsetto version of Don’t Stop Believin’. I doubt the role of Steve Rogers will be as humorous as Johnny Storm or whatever his characters name is in The Losers. If it is that humorous it wouldn’t be the Captain America movie we have been waiting for. I am sure Marvel studios will handle it quite competently and with much respect for the character concept. I am impressed with the Iron Man and Hulk movies they put out and my optimism knows no bounds. Of course it is all leading up to the greatest event in the history of movies, The Avengers Movie. I am more excited about this than I was about The Phantom Menace. Lets hope it isn’t as much of a letdown.

--------Now of course The Losers isn’t Captain America or The Avengers. But it did come out on a weekend that didn’t have any other super hero or science fiction movies coming out. I enjoyed this movie right up until the end. The action was awesome and the jokes were funny. Of course the plot is nothing new, they only enhanced that fact by showing the A-Team preview before the movie. But hey, what are you going to do? So much has already been done. So if you want to retread a plot I am cool with it as long as you make it entertaining, and they did that. Right up until the end.

--------The ending of this movie left me unsatisfied. There was no resolution. I don’t want to spoil it so I wont get too much into it, however Lets just say that it left me feeling similar to the way I felt at the end of Kill Bill part one. Except without the promise of a sequel in six months, or ever for that matter. I mean lets face it Iron Man 2 comes out in two weeks, which means whatever share of the fanboy dollar this movie is raking in will be drastically cut off. So will it make enough money to spawn the sequel they so desperately set up for? I am ambivalent at this point. I would probably see it, but that aint sayin’ much.
